Austin Natural History Museum Project
'Design VI, Sound Building' Course | The University of Texas at Austin
Third Year | Professor John Blood | Fall 2013
The design’s form is about lifting parts of the ground to reveal the contents of the museum program underneath while creating many moments of interior-exterior interactions. This folded roof form allows it to be occupied above and below. The site is located on Lady Bird/Town Lake where popular running trails are pulled into the building.
The interior program is about Texas dinosaur fossils organized by ‘sky’, ‘earth, and ‘water’ exhibits so that the fossils are arranged in a manner that celebrates how the creatures may have lived long ago.
